Sébastien Lapointe

Sébastien Lapointe is the chief information security officer at Société de transport de Montréal (STM) where he leads a multidisciplinary team of experts specialized in IT Risks governance, cybersecurity, incidents response and IT compliance.

Sebastien has over 17 years of experience in the field of information security and operational risk management. He started his career in the public sector with the government of Canada as an IT security analyst and later worked as a consultant and a manager in the financial industry. He also co-founded and managed CyberAction Jeunesse Canada, a non-profit organization that provides research and awareness on the secure usage of information and communication technology to protect the dignity and the personal integrity of children on the Internet. He holds a couple of four letter security certifications and a Specialized Graduate Diploma in IT governance, audit and security from Sherbrooke University.
